Examples Calculations
Example 1: Brown-Black-Red-Gold
Calculation:
- Brown (1) = First digit: 1
- Black (0) = Second digit: 0
- Red (×100) = Multiplier: 100
- Gold = ±5% tolerance
Value = 10 × 100 = 1,000Ω = 1kΩ ±5%
Example 2: Yellow-Violet-Orange-Silver
Calculation:
- Yellow (4) = First digit: 4
- Violet (7) = Second digit: 7
- Orange (×1K) = Multiplier: 1,000
- Silver = ±10% tolerance
Value = 47 × 1,000 = 47,000Ω = 47kΩ ±10%
Example 3: Red-Red-Black-Gold
Calculation:
- Red (2) = First digit: 2
- Red (2) = Second digit: 2
- Black (×1) = Multiplier: 1
- Gold = ±5% tolerance
Value = 22 × 1 = 22Ω ±5%
